Stripper Locker Room Is The Best Tumblr Evah! Pics To Prove It!

I started reading a book last night, Little Girl Lost, that a pulp crime novel set in present day New York where the main character is a private detective, Johnny, that starts to look into the death of Miranda the woman who took his virginity when he was 18 years-old. Turns out Johnny’s high school sweetheart didn’t go off to college and become a doctor like she had planned.

Nope, fate through a wrench in good ol’ Miranda’s plans, because Randy became a stripper. A dread stripper that serves as a catalyst for the rest of the events that unfold in the story.

Anyway, point is… at the beginning of the story there’s a scene where Johnny goes and visits the strip club where Miranda used to work. The place is a shithole; a fact made worse by the fact that Johnny visits the place in the middle of the afternoon.

Not that the cover of darkness would have taken the creepy out of the few patrons eating lunch at a dingy hole in the wall strip club. Which is what got me thinking last night. Strip clubs are weird. Scratch that, what I mean is that it’s weird that as a society we (and by “we” I largely mean “men”) frequent establishments where people get naked and shove their ta-tas in our faces.

I mean, it can be a beautiful thing. But it’s also a very strange cultural norm when you think about it. The aliens watching our planet right now must think we’re freaks.

That being said, the idea behind Stripper Locker Room is brilliant in its simplicity. It’s a photo tumblr where strippers submit selfies they’ve taken of themselves in the locker room of the stripclub where they work. When going through the pictures I can feel pervy, but not too pervy since the girls are uploading their own pictures and it’s clearly done with their consent.

Right, so that play on words didn’t exactly play out as I thought it would, but that doesn’t matter because I’ve got selfies of strippers in locker rooms and that’s all any of us need. Peace out! I’m gonna go see what kind of trouble Johnny the PI gets into next.
