Google is telling me that “La Clava” is Spanish for”bald pate” or “bald patch” and that’s it’s a game in Spain that involves a weird metal thing and a weird wooden thing. It kind of looks like a cross between a boomerang and a horseshoe game. I don’t know. I refuse to watch the video or read the rules.
What I would like to know, however, is why a German photographer would use the name “La Calva” professionally? Is there some deeper meaning or pun that I’m missing here? What does a bald pate have to do with nude photography?
Oh right, the dude is bald. He also looks like a douche, but I’m guessing that’s a different condition. He does take great pictures, though, so I guess I won’t hold it against him. Looking like a douche I mean… not the being bald part. I have nothing against being bald.
I don’t know if he’s a douche or not. I just say that because he’s very bald, very buff, and very shirtless in all his Facebook profile pics. Perhaps that doesn’t come across as douche in Germany.
Look at La Calva’s models, they don’t come off as douchey and that’s all that matters. Since when do we care about the person behind the camera anyhow? I only have room for one douchey photographer in my heart and that’s Terry Richardson, every other photographer might as well be one person.
